Quebec has always placed a high emphasis on funding for the arts; but are we in the process of bankrolling a Greek tragedy? Greece is in the grip of what most see as a self-inflicted national bankruptcy and is essentially being bought out by the IMF and bailed out by the EU. Portugal, Italy, and other such nations are beginning to take measures to ensure that they don’t end up in the same boat. If alarm bells are sounding across Europe, there ought to be air raid sirens here in Quebec.
